SPECIALIST PREVENTION & HEALTH PROMOTION

Tasks

• Identification of health problems and health needs in the project area of the NGO Baraka Health Net (Mathare Valley, Korogocho, Athi River)
• Development of a prevention strategy for the project areas
• Development and implementation of trainings on prevention and health promotion for project staff based on identified needs
• Prioritization of topics in the area of prevention and health promotion for the regions
• Development, implementation and evaluation of needs-based prevention and health education programs and events to educate individuals and/or communities on health conditions including pre-testing
  • Developing suitable approaches based on evidence, definition of messages, channels and materials and settings for implementation and evaluation of health programs
  • Pre-testing of the developed approaches
  • Defining and planning the desired outcomes of prevention and health education programs and
  • Monitor progress, resources, and overall sustainability of implementation
• Support designing research studies, as well as measuring and interpreting the findings
• Networking with partners in the field of prevention and health promotion

Skills / competencies

• Degree: Master´s degree in Public Health, Health Communication
• 2 years of experience in the field of prevention, Health Education, Health Promotion, including planning and implementing prevention activities / health promotion interventions
• Proven skills in Monitoring, Evaluation and Research
• Communication skills
• Teaching / training skills
